UOLLI (Tomas Marcuzzi) nasce nel 1978 a Udine dove vive e lavora. Nato come grafico pubblicitario, si è poi da subito appassionato all'illustrazione e all'animazione. Nel 2003 ha realizzato il suo primo cortometraggio dal titolo Luci Spente che ha vinto il Mestre Film Festival ed è stato trasmesso su SKY. Nel 2008 ha diretto il suo primo videoclip Ippocastano a metà strada tra animazione e costruzione reale di carta che è stato poi selezionato al MuseekFestival di San Pietroburgo. Negli anni a seguire ha realizzato numerosi lavori per vari committenti in ambito culturale come il Trieste Film Festival, l'Home Page Festival di Udine, il Sexto 'Nplugged di Pordenone e il Centro per le arti visive Visionario realizzando sigle e campagne pubblicitarie; ha sviluppato alcuni importanti video promozionali anche per l'Università e il comune di Udine, per l'azienda Bata, l’etichetta discografica Megaphone e per molti altri. In questi lavori il suo stile si è sposato alle esigenze promozionali senza intaccare la propria libertà stilistica e il suo mondo naif. Nell'ultimo anno ha realizzato anche un video musicale per la band The Charlestones attualmente in rotazione su MTV Italia, ha realizzato inoltre tutte le illustrazioni e curato la regia della trasposizione dell’opera di Orwell La fattoria degli animali, ha diretto anche un importante serie televisiva in lingua friulana Felici ma Furlans e ha collaborato con il Centro Espressioni Cinematografiche di Udine organizzando una serie di appuntamenti dedicati ai video musicali e spot chiamati VideoUnlimited. Ha realizzato infine una sua linea di magliette illustrate UOLLI T-Shirt e partecipato a diverse mostre presentando il suo mondo in bilico tra reale ed irreale e costruito con le proprie mani con carta, lana, polistirolo e molti altri materiali creando scenografie incantate dove far abitare lo spettatore.
UOLLI (Tomas Marcuzzi) was born in 1978 in Udine/Italy where he lives and works. At first an advertising graphic designer, he soon got into illustration and animation. In 2003 he made his first short film Luci Spente which won the Mestre Film Festival and was broadcasted on SKY, an Italia pay TV provider. In 2008 he directed his first video clip Ippocastano: a mix of animation and paper creations which eventually was selected for the music festival MuseekFestival in Saint Petersburg. In the following years he has made themes and advertising campaigns for different cultural bodies such as the Trieste Film Festival, Home Page Festival di Udine, Sexto 'Nplugged of Pordenone/Italy and the centre for visual arts Centro per le arti visive Visionario. He has furthermore made some important promotional videos for the university and town of Udine, the company Bata, the record label Megaphone and many more. Even though he respected the promotional needs of these works, he has always remained faithful to his style and his naïf world. Last year he also made a music video for the band The Charlestones which is currently on the air on MTV Italia. He has furthermore created the illustrations of and been director for the movie of Orwell’s Animal Farm. He also directed Felici ma Furlans, an important television series in Friulian language and has collaborated with the cinematographic centre Centro Espressioni Cinematografiche of Udine for which he has organized a series dedicated to music clips and spots called VideoUnlimited. He has also created his own collection of illustrated t-shirts called UOLLI T-Shirt and participated in different exhibitions to present his world between the real and unreal designed by his own hands with paper, wool, polystyrene and other materials: a world made of enchanted sceneries and a place to live for the spectators.
